शतक्रतुरुवाच येषां वेदा निहिता वै गुहायां मनीषिणां सत्यवतां महात्मनाम् | तेषां त्वयैकेन महात्मनास्मि वृद्धस्तस्मात् प्रीतिमांस्तेडहमद्य
śatakratur uvāca yeṣāṃ vedā nihitā vai guhāyāṃ manīṣiṇāṃ satyavatāṃ mahātmanām | teṣāṃ tvayā ekena mahātmanā asmi vṛddhas tasmāt prītimāṃs te ’ham adya ||
ശതക്രതു (ഇന്ദ്രൻ) പറഞ്ഞു—സത്യവാദികളായ, വിവേകികളായ മഹാത്മാക്കളുടെ ഹൃദയഗുഹയിൽ വേദങ്ങൾ നിക്ഷിപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരിൽ നിങ്ങൾ തന്നെയാണ് ശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ. ഹേ മഹാത്മാവേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഏകാന്ത ക്ഷേമചിന്തയാൽ ഞാൻ സമൃദ്ധനായി; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു അത്യന്തം പ്രീതിയോടെ നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
