उपदेशदोषप्रसङ्गः (Upadeśa-doṣa-prasaṅgaḥ) — The Risk of Misapplied Counsel

तस्मात्‌ सद्धि्न वक्तव्यं कस्यचित्‌ किंचिदग्रत: । सूक्ष्मा गतिर्ि धर्मस्य दुर्ज्ञेया ह्कृतात्मभि:

Transliteration

tasmāt saddhiṁ vaktavyaṁ kasyacit kiṁcid agrataḥ | sūkṣmā gatir hi dharmasya durjñeyā hy akṛtātmabhiḥ ||

Translation

അതുകൊണ്ട് സത്പുരുഷന്മാർ മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ ആരോടും പെട്ടെന്ന് ഉപദേശം നൽകരുത്; ധർമ്മത്തിന്റെ ഗതി അത്യന്തം സൂക്ഷ്മമാണ്. അന്തഃകരണത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച് നിയന്ത്രിക്കാത്തവർക്ക് ധർമ്മം യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ എന്ത് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു എന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയുക അത്യന്തം ദുഷ്കരം.
