ययातेर्वानप्रस्थतपःस्वर्गारोहणम् | Yayāti’s Vānaprastha Austerities and Ascent to Heaven
ययातिरुवाच अधर्मो न स्पृशेदेष महान् मामिह भार्गव | वर्णसंकरजो ब्रद्वान्निति त्वां प्रवृणोम्पहम्,ययाति बोले--भार्गव ब्रह्मन! मैं आपसे यह वर माँगता हूँ कि इस विवाहमें यह प्रत्यक्ष दीखनेवाला वर्णसंकरजनित महान् अधर्म मेरा स्पर्श न करे
yayātir uvāca | adharmo na spṛśed eṣa mahān mām iha bhārgava | varṇasaṅkarajo brāhmaṇn iti tvāṃ pravṛṇomy aham ||
യയാതി പറഞ്ഞു—ഭാർഗവ ബ്രാഹ്മണാ! ഈ വിവാഹത്തിൽ വർണസങ്കരത്തിൽ നിന്നുയരുന്ന ഈ മഹാ അധർമ്മം എന്നെ സ്പർശിക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ—ഇതാണ് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് വരമായി അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്.
