भूमिरत्नादिभिदनिस्तथा पूज्या भवन्ति ते । वरदानमहायज्ञैस्तथा शक्रोत्सवेन च
vaiśampāyana uvāca | bhūmiratnādibhir dānais tathā pūjyā bhavanti te | varadāna-mahāyajñais tathā śakrotsavena ca ||
ഭൂമിയും രത്നങ്ങളും മുതലായ ദാനങ്ങളാൽ അവർ പൂജ്യരാകുന്നു; അതുപോലെ വരദാനം, മഹായജ്ഞങ്ങൾ, കൂടാതെ ശക്രോത്സവം കൊണ്ടും.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Honor and elevated spiritual/social standing arise from generosity (especially high-value gifts like land and jewels) and from sustaining communal religious life through boons, great sacrifices, and festivals dedicated to Indra; ethical merit is linked to both personal charity and public-spirited ritual.
Vaiśampāyana generalizes the outcome of certain meritorious acts: those who give substantial gifts and uphold major rites—particularly the celebration of Śakra/Indra’s festival—become revered and gain auspicious results, reinforcing a theme of prosperity through dharmic patronage.
