Related Themes: Garuda Purana Pretakalpa: preta-bhojana lists including bodily wastes (contextual parallel)
This verse lists impure discharges (vomit, excreta, phlegm, urine, tears) to emphasize the distressing, degraded condition associated with the post-death/preta narrative and to motivate dharmic living and proper rites.
It does so indirectly by depicting the suffering-bound state surrounding the departed being; the text frames these experiences as part of the harsh post-death passage that is alleviated through dharma and prescribed rituals.
Live ethically and avoid harmful actions that lead to suffering; also, perform family death rites with sincerity (as taught in the Preta Kanda) to support peace and remembrance.
