śavasthānasamīpe tu kṣeptavyāḥ puttalāstataḥ / darbhakḷptāstu catvāra ṛkṣamantrābhimantritāḥ

ശവം വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിനടുത്ത് പിന്നെ പുത്തലകൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കണം. ദർഭപുല്ലിൽ നിർമ്മിച്ച നാല് പുത്തലകൾ ഋക് മന്ത്രങ്ങളാൽ അഭിമന്ത്രിതമാക്കണം.
