vṛṣotsargadānadharmaputrādipraśaṃsanaṃ nāma trayodaśo 'dhyāyaḥ garuḍa uvāca / ārtena mriyamāṇena yaddattaṃ tatphalaṃ vada / svasthāvasthena dattena vidhihīnena vā vibho

Translation

ഇത് പതിമൂന്നാം അധ്യായം—‘വൃഷോത്സർഗ്ഗ-ദാനം, ധർമ്മം, ധർമ്മപുത്രാദികളുടെ പ്രശംസ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ. ഗരുഡൻ പറഞ്ഞു: ഹേ വിഭോ! പീഡിതനായി മരണാസന്നനായവൻ നൽകിയ ദാനത്തിന്റെ ഫലം പറയുക; അതുപോലെ ആരോഗ്യാവസ്ഥയിൽ നൽകിയതിന്റെ—അല്ലെങ്കിൽ വിധിയില്ലാതെ നൽകിയതിന്റെ—ഫലവും അരുളുക.
