Lord Vishnu (in dialogue to Garuda/Vinata-putra, as per the common Garuda Purana discourse frame)
Concept: What is Brahmā-born is to be contemplated as feminine in form; do not imagine it otherwise. Do not conceive it as male; the neuter condition is derivative.
Vedantic Theme: Ontology of nāma-rūpa within creation: correct conceptualization (yathārtha-bhāvanā) prevents category confusion; supports śakti-centric reading within a non-dual/abheda horizon.
Application: Practice disciplined contemplation: name things according to their intended doctrinal category; avoid projecting preferred categories onto metaphysical principles.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: cosmological genealogy
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 3.3.16 (two forms; abheda contemplation); Garuda Purana 3.3.17 (form and reflection argument)
The verse stresses that meditation should align with the stated essential nature (svarūpa) of the principle being contemplated, rather than being reshaped by personal imagination.
It reflects the text’s recurring emphasis on precise doctrinal understanding—right conception and right contemplation are treated as part of dharma and correct spiritual practice.
When doing japa, dhyāna, or mantra-based visualization, follow the traditional description of the deity/principle and avoid arbitrary mental alterations; treat scriptural form-instructions as part of disciplined practice.
