तदैव देवी वारुणी शेषपत्नी तपश्च क्रे इन्दिराप्रीतये च / तदा प्रीता इन्दिरा सुप्रसन्ना उवाच तां वारुणीं शेषपत्नीम्
tadaiva devī vāruṇī śeṣapatnī tapaśca kre indirāprītaye ca / tadā prītā indirā suprasannā uvāca tāṃ vāruṇīṃ śeṣapatnīm
അപ്പോൾ തന്നേ ശേഷപത്നിയായ ദേവി വാരുണി, ഇന്ദിരാ (ലക്ഷ്മി)യെ പ്രസന്നമാക്കുവാൻ തപസ്സു ചെയ്തു. അതിനാൽ അത്യന്തം പ്രസന്നയായ ഇന്ദിരാ, ശേഷപത്നി വാരുണിയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു।
