Lord Vishnu (speaking to Garuda/Vinata-putra)

Concept: Vāyu (prāṇa) is identified with ‘Mukti’ and functions as a liberating agency for devotees through the doorway of true knowledge, under divine sanction (anugraha).

Vedantic Theme: Mokṣa as jñāna-sādhya yet grace-permitted; prāṇa as a crucial inner instrument (karaṇa) supporting realization and devotion.

Application: Pursue śravaṇa–manana–nididhyāsana alongside disciplined prāṇa regulation (ethical living, steady breath, focused mind) and devotion; treat knowledge as a lived ‘doorway’ rather than mere information.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

This verse presents Vāyu as a divinely empowered agent who grants liberation to devotees, specifically through the doorway of spiritual knowledge, under Vishnu’s sanction.

It frames liberation as attained via jñāna (true knowledge) for bhaktas (devotees), indicating that inner realization—supported by divine grace—opens the way to freedom.

Cultivate devotion along with disciplined study and contemplation of spiritual truth, treating knowledge not as information but as a transformative “gateway” to ethical and liberated living.
