कामं चेममभिध्याय क्रियतां पितृपूजनम् / त एव तुष्टाः पितरः प्रदास्यन्ति तवेप्सितम् / पत्नीं सुतांश्च सन्तुष्टाः किं न दद्युः पितामहाः

kāmaṃ cemamabhidhyāya kriyatāṃ pitṛpūjanam / ta eva tuṣṭāḥ pitaraḥ pradāsyanti tavepsitam / patnīṃ sutāṃśca santuṣṭāḥ kiṃ na dadyuḥ pitāmahāḥ

ഈ ആഗ്രഹം മനസ്സിൽ ധ്യാനിച്ച് പിതൃപൂജ ചെയ്യുക. പിതൃകൾ തൃപ്തരായാൽ നിനക്ക് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതു നൽകും; സന്തുഷ്ടരായ പിതാമഹർ എന്താണ് നൽകാതിരിക്കുക—ഭാര്യയും പുത്രന്മാരും പോലും നൽകും.
