FAQs

This verse situates various classes of beings—birds, Yakṣas, Rākṣasas, sages, Apsarases, and Gandharvas—within a structured cosmic lineage, helping readers understand the Purāṇic universe and its inhabited realms.

Indirectly: by mapping the kinds of beings and realms that exist in the cosmos, it provides background for later teachings about where souls may travel or take birth according to karma.

It encourages a broader dharmic worldview: one’s actions (karma) are understood within a vast moral universe, fostering humility, ethical restraint, and reverence toward all forms of life.
