एता दग्धा न गन्तव्यं पीडादिः किल मानवैः / विशाखात्रयमादित्ये पूर्वाषाढात्रये शशी

etā dagdhā na gantavyaṃ pīḍādiḥ kila mānavaiḥ / viśākhātrayamāditye pūrvāṣāḍhātraye śaśī

ഈ കാലങ്ങൾ ‘ദഗ്ധം’ എന്നു പറയപ്പെടുന്നു; അപ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യർ യാത്രയ്ക്ക് പുറപ്പെടരുത്, കാരണം പീഡയും ഉപദ്രവങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകാം. സൂര്യൻ വിശാഖയുടെ മൂന്ന് പാദങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോഴും ചന്ദ്രൻ പൂർവാഷാഢയുടെ മൂന്ന് പാദങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോഴും—അത്തരം സമയം ഒഴിവാക്കണം।
