तच्छ्रीमद्रारुडं पुण्यं सर्वदं पठतस्तव / वक्ष्ये व्यासं नमस्कृत्य शृणु शौनक तद्यथा

ആ ശ്രീമദ് ഗാരുഡപുരാണം പുണ്യവും മഹിമയും നിറഞ്ഞത്; പാരായണം ചെയ്യുന്നവന് സർവ്വഫലദായകം. വ്യാസനോട് നമസ്കരിച്ച് ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അത് വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുന്നു; ഹേ ശൗനക, യഥാതഥം ശ്രവിക്കൂ.
