पिण्याकमूलगन्धांश्च वैश्यवृत्तो न विक्रयेत् / धर्मार्थं विक्रयं नेयास्तिला धान्येन तत्समाः

piṇyākamūlagandhāṃśca vaiśyavṛtto na vikrayet / dharmārthaṃ vikrayaṃ neyāstilā dhānyena tatsamāḥ

വൈശ്യവൃത്തിയാൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നവൻ പിണ്യാകം, മൂലങ്ങൾ, ഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ വിൽക്കരുത്. ധർമ്മാർത്ഥം എന്ന പേരിലും അത്തരം വ്യാപാരത്തിൽ ഏർപ്പെടരുത്; തിലം ധാന്യസമം എന്നു സ്മൃതി പറയുന്നു.
