ब्रह्महत्याव्रतं वापि वत्सरत्रितयं चरेत् / वैश्यहाब्दं च (ब्दांश्च) रेदेतद्दद्याद्वैकशतं गवाम्

brahmahatyāvrataṃ vāpi vatsaratritayaṃ caret / vaiśyahābdaṃ ca (bdāṃśca) redetaddadyādvaikaśataṃ gavām

ബ്രഹ്മഹത്യയുടെ പ്രായശ്ചിത്ത-വ്രതം മൂന്നു വർഷം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കണം. വൈശ്യവധത്തിന് ഒരു വർഷം (അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നിശ്ചിത ഭാഗകാലം) പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം ചെയ്ത്, പ്രായശ്ചിത്താർത്ഥം നൂറ് പശുക്കൾ ദാനം ചെയ്യണം।
