Parīkṣit’s Inquiry into Vṛtrāsura’s Bhakti and the Beginning of Citraketu’s Trial

कृतद्युतिरजानन्ती सपत्नीनामघं महत् । सुप्त एवेति सञ्चिन्त्य निरीक्ष्य व्यचरद्गृहे ॥ ४४ ॥

kṛtadyutir ajānantī sapatnīnām aghaṁ mahat supta eveti sañcintya nirīkṣya vyacarad gṛhe

സഹഭാര്യകളുടെ മഹാപാപം അറിയാതെ കൃതദ്യുതി ‘മകൻ ആഴത്തിൽ ഉറങ്ങുന്നു’ എന്നു കരുതി അവനെ നോക്കി വീട്ടിൽ നടന്നു; അവൻ മരിച്ചുവെന്ന് അവൾ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല.
