Bhīṣmadeva’s Passing Away in the Presence of Lord Kṛṣṇa

bhagavān api viprarṣe rathena sa-dhanañjayaḥ sa tair vyarocata nṛpaḥ kuvera iva guhyakaiḥ

Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa wanted the Pāṇḍavas to be present before Bhīṣmadeva in the most aristocratic order so that he might be pleased to see them happy at the time of his death. Kuvera is the richest of all the demigods, and herein King Yudhiṣṭhira appeared like him (Kuvera), for the procession along with Śrī Kṛṣṇa was quite appropriate to the royalty of King Yudhiṣṭhira.

FAQs

It states that Bhagavan Krishna Himself arrived on a chariot together with Dhanañjaya (Arjuna), emphasizing Krishna’s intimate support of His devotee and His personal presence among the Pandavas.

The comparison highlights Yudhishthira’s radiance and royal dignity when surrounded by exalted companions—especially with Krishna and Arjuna present—just as Kuvera shines among his celestial attendants.

Keep saintly and uplifting association: when one is supported by virtuous companions and devotion to the Lord, one’s clarity, strength, and inner “radiance” naturally increase even in difficult times.
