अहं च तद्ब्रह्मकुले ऊषिवांस्तदुपेक्षया । दिग्देशकालाव्युत्पन्नो बालक: पञ्चहायन: ॥ ८ ॥
ahaṁ ca tad-brahma-kule ūṣivāṁs tad-upekṣayā dig-deśa-kālāvyutpanno bālakaḥ pañca-hāyanaḥ
ഞാൻ അഞ്ചുവയസ്സുള്ള ബാലനായി ബ്രാഹ്മണരുടെ ഗുരുകുലത്തിൽ താമസിച്ചു. അമ്മയുടെ സ്നേഹാശ്രയത്തിലായിരുന്നു; ദിക്കുകളും ദേശങ്ങളും കാലവും സംബന്ധിച്ച പരിചയം എനിക്കില്ലായിരുന്നു.
