oṁ namo bhagavate mukhyatamāya namaḥ sattvāya prāṇāyaujase sahase balāya mahā-matsyāya nama iti.

ഓം—ശുദ്ധ സത്ത്വസ്വരൂപനായ പരമപുരുഷോത്തമ ഭഗവാനെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു. പ്രാണൻ, ദേഹബലം, തേജസ്, സാഹസം, സാമർത്ഥ്യം എന്നിവയുടെ മൂലവും അവൻ തന്നെയാണ്. അവതാരങ്ങളിൽ ആദ്യം പ്രത്യക്ഷനായ മഹാമത്സ്യനു നമസ്കാരം; വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും പ്രണാമം.
