tasmai kāma-varaṁ tuṣṭo bhagavān harir īśvaraḥ dadāv ilābhavat tena sudyumnaḥ puruṣarṣabhaḥ

വസിഷ്ഠനിൽ പ്രസന്നനായ പരമേശ്വരൻ ഭഗവാൻ ഹരി അവൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ച വരം നൽകി; അതിനാൽ ഇള ‘സുദ്യുമ്നൻ’ എന്ന ശ്രേഷ്ഠപുരുഷനായി മാറി.
