Parīkṣit’s Final Absorption, Takṣaka’s Bite, Janamejaya’s Snake Sacrifice, and the Vedic Sound-Lineage
purāṇa-saṁhitām etām aśrauṣma bhavato vayam yasyāṁ khalūttamaḥ-śloko bhagavān anuvarṇyate
This verse highlights śravaṇa as foundational: the sages affirm they have heard the Purāṇa from Sūta, emphasizing that Bhagavān is revealed through attentive hearing of His narrations.
They acknowledge Sūta as their speaker and confirm that the Purāṇic compilation they received from him centrally and consistently narrates the Supreme Lord (Uttamaśloka).
Prioritize regular listening/reading of Bhagavatam-centered teachings—content that glorifies Bhagavān—so the mind repeatedly returns to devotion rather than distraction.
