FAQs

This verse states that the Lord’s līlā-avatāra deeds are to be fully glorified and narrated, and that the speaker has presented them in response to the devotees’ sincere inquiry.

Because the sages, led by Shaunaka, had asked Suta Gosvami to recount the Bhagavata’s sacred histories; here he indicates he has answered their questions by describing the Lord’s divine incarnations and pastimes.

Regularly hearing and recounting the Lord’s pastimes (through daily reading, kīrtana, or study) strengthens devotion, purifies attention, and reorients life toward dharma and remembrance of Bhagavān.
