Kṛṣṇa Defeats Bāṇāsura and Receives Śiva’s Prayers
The Śoṇitapura Battle and the Jvara Episode
Thus end the purports of the humble servants of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda to the Tenth Canto, Sixty-third Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled “Lord Kṛṣṇa Fights with Bāṇāsura.”
This verse states that one who rises early and remembers Lord Kṛṣṇa’s victory and His encounter with Lord Śiva will not suffer defeat, highlighting morning smaraṇa as a powerful bhakti practice.
In the Bāṇāsura episode, Lord Śiva fights on behalf of his devotee, yet Kṛṣṇa ultimately prevails; the narration teaches Kṛṣṇa’s supreme victory while honoring Śiva’s exalted position and devotion.
Begin the day with remembrance of Kṛṣṇa’s victorious līlā—through recitation, contemplation, or hearing—cultivating steadiness and confidence to face challenges without inner defeat.
