Kṛṣṇa Teases Rukmiṇī; Her Devotional Reply and the Lord’s Assurance
प्रमृज्याश्रुकले नेत्रे स्तनौ चोपहतौ शुचा । आश्लिष्य बाहुना राजननन्यविषयां सतीम् ॥ २७ ॥ सान्त्वयामास सान्त्वज्ञ: कृपया कृपणां प्रभु: । हास्यप्रौढिभ्रमच्चित्तामतदर्हां सतां गति: ॥ २८ ॥
pramṛjyāśru-kale netre stanau copahatau śucā āśliṣya bāhunā rājan ananya-viṣayāṁ satīm
ഹേ രാജാവേ, ദുഃഖാശ്രുക്കളാൽ നിറഞ്ഞ അവളുടെ കണ്ണുകളും, കണ്ണീരാൽ നനഞ്ഞ് മങ്ങിയ സ്തനങ്ങളും തുടച്ച്, തനിക്കല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും ആഗ്രഹിക്കാത്ത പതിവ്രതയായ രുക്മിണിയെ പരമേശ്വരൻ ഭുജങ്ങളാൽ ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്തു. ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിൽ നിപുണനായ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ, തന്റെ ചതുരഹാസ്യത്തിൽ മനസ്സ് കുഴഞ്ഞിട്ടും ദുഃഖത്തിന് അർഹയല്ലാത്ത ആ ദീന രുക്മിണിയെ കരുണയോടെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു।
