तत: कूटमनुप्राप्तं राम: प्रहरतां वर: । अवधील्लीलया राजन्सावज्ञं वाममुष्टिना ॥ २६ ॥
tataḥ kūṭam anuprāptaṁ rāmaḥ praharatāṁ varaḥ avadhīl līlayā rājan sāvajñaṁ vāma-muṣṭinā
പിന്നീട് കൂṭ എന്ന മല്ലൻ മുന്നോട്ട് വന്നു. ഓ രാജാവേ, പോരാളികളിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ രാമൻ (ബലരാമൻ) അവനെ കളിയെന്നപോലെ, അവഗണനയോടെ, ഇടത് മുഷ്ടിയാൽ തന്നെ വധിച്ചു।
In 10.44.26, Śukadeva describes Balarāma effortlessly striking down the wrestler Kūṭa with His left fist, treating it like a mere pastime and showing His unmatched strength.
Śukadeva is narrating the arena events directly to King Parīkṣit; the address 'rājan' marks the intimate, instructive storytelling as the Lord’s līlā unfolds.
It reminds devotees that worldly power and intimidation cannot stand before divine protection; cultivating faith and humility helps one face fear and opposition without losing devotion.
