Earth’s Burden, Viṣṇu’s Order, and Kaṁsa’s Fear

पुरैव पुंसावधृतो धराज्वरोभवद्भ‍िरंशैर्यदुषूपजन्यताम् । स यावदुर्व्या भरमीश्वरेश्वर:स्वकालशक्त्या क्षपयंश्चरेद् भुवि ॥ २२ ॥

puraiva puṁsāvadhṛto dharā-jvaro bhavadbhir aṁśair yaduṣūpajanyatām sa yāvad urvyā bharam īśvareśvaraḥ sva-kāla-śaktyā kṣapayaṁś cared bhuvi

ബ്രഹ്മാവ് അറിയിച്ചു—നാം അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പേ തന്നെ ഭഗവാൻ ഭൂമിയിലെ ദുഃഖം അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ഈശ്വരേശ്വരൻ തന്റെ കാലശക്തിയാൽ ഭൂഭാരം കുറയ്ക്കാൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന കാലമൊട്ടാകെ, നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും അംശങ്ങളായി യദുവംശത്തിൽ പുത്രന്മാരും പൗത്രന്മാരുമായി അവതരിക്കണം।

This verse states that the Lord, through His expansions appearing among the Yadus, personally moves on earth and diminishes her burden by His own power of Time (kāla-śakti) until it is destroyed.

Shukadeva emphasizes divine planning: the Supreme Lord had already ‘undertaken’ the earth’s distress and arranged His manifestations and associates to appear, showing that Krishna’s advent is purposeful and providential, not accidental.

Time steadily removes what is harmful and unsustainable; remembering kāla-śakti helps one practice humility, detach from pride and fear, and align daily life with dharma and devotion rather than temporary power.
