श्रीशुक उवाच तस्यानुशृण्वतो राजन् प्रह्लादस्य कृताञ्जले: । हिरण्यगर्भो भगवानुवाच मधुसूदनम् ॥ १८ ॥

ശ്രീശുകൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഓ രാജാ പരീക്ഷിത്! പ്രഹ്ലാദ മഹാരാജാവ് കൈകൂപ്പി സമീപത്ത് നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ, ഹിരണ്യഗർഭനായ ഭഗവാൻ ബ്രഹ്മാവ് മധുസൂദനനായ പരമപുരുഷനോട് സംസാരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി।
