Vāmanadeva Praises Bali; the Measure of Three Steps; Śukrācārya Warns Against the Gift
न ह्येतस्मिन्कुले कश्चिन्नि:सत्त्व: कृपण: पुमान् । प्रत्याख्याता प्रतिश्रुत्य यो वादाता द्विजातये ॥ ३ ॥
na hy etasmin kule kaścin niḥsattvaḥ kṛpaṇaḥ pumān pratyākhyātā pratiśrutya yo vādātā dvijātaye
ഈ കുലത്തിൽ ഇന്നുവരെ ആരും നീചഹൃദയനോ കൃപണനോ ആയി ജനിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ബ്രാഹ്മണർ ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ ആരും ദാനം നിഷേധിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; ദാനം നൽകാമെന്ന് വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്ത് ആരും വാക്ക് ലംഘിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.
