एतत् कल्पविकल्पस्य प्रमाणं परिकीर्तितम् । यत्र मन्वन्तराण्याहुश्चतुर्दश पुराविद: ॥ ११ ॥
etat kalpa-vikalpasya pramāṇaṁ parikīrtitam yatra manvantarāṇy āhuś caturdaśa purāvidaḥ
ഹേ രാജാവേ, ഒരു കല്പം അഥവാ ബ്രഹ്മാവിന്റെ ഒരു ദിവസത്തിൽ ‘വികല്പ’മെന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന അനേകം മാറ്റങ്ങൾ സംഭവിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ പ്രമാണം ഞാൻ മുമ്പേ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്. പുരാണവിദഗ്ധർ ബ്രഹ്മദിനത്തിൽ പതിനാലു മന്വന്തരങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടെന്ന് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
