Suta Goswami (narrating the फलश्रुति to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not site-specific; it universalizes access to ‘śiva-gati’ through disciplined listening/recitation.
Significance: Frames daily śravaṇa/pāṭha as a sādhanā yielding iha-sukha (worldly well-being) and ante śiva-gati (final liberation/union with Śiva’s state).
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It teaches that disciplined śravaṇa (devotional listening) and sharing sacred narration, done with a steady mind, yields both worldly well-being and the highest fruit—śiva-gati, union with Shiva’s liberating grace.
Listening and reciting the Purana is itself a form of Saguna Shiva-upāsanā: the devotee approaches Shiva through sacred sound, story, and praise, which supports devotion to the Linga and culminates in Shiva’s saving state (śiva-gati).
Regular pāṭha/śravaṇa (daily recitation or listening) done in samāhita-bhāva (concentrated awareness); it can be paired with simple Shaiva observances like mantra-japa (e.g., Panchakshara), bhasma/tripuṇḍra, or Rudrākṣa as supportive disciplines.
