FAQs

It prescribes ritual bathing (snāna) followed by worship (arcana) of the devas and reverent offerings/worship to the pitṛs, performed with personal purity and discipline.

The verse presents a complete sacred-duty framework: honoring divine powers (devas) alongside lineage obligations (pitṛs), suggesting that pilgrimage merit is fulfilled through both worship and ancestral reverence.

It emphasizes śauca (purity) and niyama (discipline/restraint) as prerequisites for effective worship, indicating that inner and outer cleanliness are integral to tirtha practice.
