Unspecified (narratorial voice addressing a king: 'rājendra')

Concept: Bhakti expressed as daily recitation or devoted listening grants the same desired fruits as direct tīrtha-sevā; śravaṇa-pāṭha is itself a sādhana.

Application: Make sacred learning habitual: read a small portion daily or listen attentively; let devotion (bhakti) be the multiplier that turns information into transformation.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"In a quiet palace hall turned into a satsanga space, a sage recites the tīrtha-mahātmya while the king listens with folded hands; the words appear as faint golden syllables rising like incense. Behind them, a visionary backdrop shows miniature scenes of the described tīrthas—rivers, ghats, and shrines—indicating that devoted hearing ‘visits’ them inwardly.","primary_figures":["A reciting sage","A listening king (rājendra)","Attendant devotees/scribes"],"setting":"Lamp-lit hall with palm-leaf manuscripts, a small altar, and a symbolic mural/vision of tīrthas in the background.","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["warm amber","manuscript tan","royal maroon","sandalwood beige","golden script-glow"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: central sage with palm-leaf manuscript, king in jeweled crown seated respectfully, gold-leaf syllables floating upward, ornate pillars and arch, rich reds/greens, embossed gold borders, devotional iconography with a small shrine vignette paneling the background.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate indoor satsanga, delicate lamp glow, refined faces, thin golden lines suggesting spoken ślokas, background as soft vignettes of rivers and ghats, cool-warm balanced palette and fine textile patterns.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines of sage and king, stylized manuscript and lamp, golden-yellow speech aura, background panels showing tīrtha icons, strong reds/yellows/greens with temple-wall symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central katha scene framed by intricate floral borders, hanging lamps, repeated lotus motifs, small medallions depicting various tīrthas around the edges, deep blue backdrop with gold and vermilion detailing, devotional storytelling aesthetic."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"devotional","suggested_raga":"Bhupali","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"reverent-soft","sound_elements":["soft bell at verse-end","page rustle of palm leaves","low tanpura drone","distant conch","attentive silence"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes:

FAQs

It praises both daily recitation (pāṭha) and devotional listening (śravaṇa), stating that either done with bhakti yields the promised fruits.

It functions as a phalaśruti—an assurance of results—emphasizing that devotional engagement with the text (reading or hearing) grants desired aims.

Sincerity of devotion is central: the verse highlights bhakti as the qualifying factor, not merely the act of reading, encouraging steady daily practice and reverent listening.
