Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 22 — Draupadī’s Abduction Attempt and Bhīma’s Suppression of the Kīcakas
उवाच च महातेजा द्रौपदीं योषितां वराम् । पश्यैनमेहि पाञज्चालि कामुको5यं यथा कृत:
uvāca ca mahātejā draupadīṁ yoṣitāṁ varām | paśyainam ehi pāñcāli kāmuko 'yaṁ yathā kṛtaḥ ||
ໄວສັມປາຍະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: ແລ້ວ ພີມະຜູ້ມີເດດສະຫງ່າອັນແຮງກ້າ ໄດ້ກ່າວກັບ ດຣາວປະດີ ຜູ້ເປັນເລີດໃນຫມູ່ນາງວ່າ: «ມານີ້ ປາຍັນຈາລີ! ເບິ່ງເຂົາເຖີດ—ເບິ່ງວ່າ ຊາຍຜູ້ຖືກກາມຕັນຫາຂັບດັນນີ້ ຖືກຫຼຸດຕໍ່າເປັນຮູບແບບໃດ!»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical principle that lust and misconduct (kāma unchecked by dharma) lead to degradation and disgrace; wrongdoing invites consequences that restore moral order and protect the vulnerable.
Bhīma addresses Draupadī and calls her to come and see a lustful offender who has been physically humbled—inviting her to witness the outcome of the punishment and the reversal of the wrongdoer’s pride.
