वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse models restrained, refined praise: beauty is described through clarity, purity, and gentle radiance (moon-like nirmalatā), suggesting that outward splendour is best framed in terms of inner refinement and spotless character.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a speaker offers an encomium—admiring someone’s exceptional beauty and radiance—using the classical simile of the spotless moon; in the Gītā Press context this appears alongside the chapter-colophon material marking the close of the Jīyūtavadha-related section.
