Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how the buildup of power and alliances intensifies suspicion and strategic anxiety. It frames war not as a sudden event but as a consequence of political calculations and perceived intentions—raising ethical questions about whether strength is used for reconciliation or escalation.

In the Udyoga Parva’s preparations for conflict, Duryodhana asks Sañjaya what Yudhiṣṭhira plans to do now that he has secured seven akṣauhiṇīs and the support of allied kings, indicating that the Pāṇḍava side is mobilized and ready for war.
