Educational Q&A

Even a brief narrative transition highlights a key Mahābhārata ethic: the fate of society turns on the choices of rulers, whose greatness is measured not only by power but by adherence to dharma in moments of escalating conflict.

Vaiśaṃpāyana signals a transition: the story moves forward to what unfolds among the assembled or concerned kings, preparing the reader for subsequent deliberations and developments in the political crisis.
