The verse underscores the ethical weight of truthful communication in high-stakes counsel: a message should be delivered transparently, in the presence of the key moral agent (Vāsudeva), and it highlights how long-held intentions and deliberations eventually mature into decisive outcomes.
Sañjaya instructs someone to go and report his words with Kṛṣṇa (Vāsudeva) listening, indicating that a long-anticipated, long-deliberated development has now materialized—signaling a turning point in the pre-war negotiations and decisions of the Udyoga Parva.
