Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 132 — Vidura’s Counsel on Udyama, Yaśas, and Kṣātra-Dharma

नेदृशं बन्धुमासाद्य बान्धव: सुखमेधते । जिस दुर्बल मनुष्यका शत्रुपक्षेके लोग अभिनन्दन करते हों, जो सब लोगोंके द्वारा अपमानित होता हो, जिसके आसन और वस्त्र निकृष्ट श्रेणीके हों, जो थोड़े लाभसे ही संतुष्ट होकर विस्मय प्रकट करता हो, जो सब प्रकारसे हीन, क्षुद्र जीवन बितानेवाला और ओछे स्वभावका हो, ऐसे बन्धुको पाकर उसके भाई-बन्धु सुखी नहीं होते | २६-२७ ह ।। अवृत्त्यैव विपत्स्यामो वयं राष्ट्रात्‌ प्रवासिता:

nedṛśaṃ bandhum āsādya bāndhavaḥ sukham edhate |
