।। तेषां पापमभिप्रायं पापानां दुष्टचेतसाम्
teṣāṃ pāpam abhiprāyaṃ pāpānāṃ duṣṭa-cetasām
ໄວສັມປາຍະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າໄດ້ເຫັນ (ຫຼື ໄດ້ປະກາດ) ເຈດຕະນາອັນຊົ່ວຮ້າຍຂອງຄົນຊົ່ວເຫຼົ່ານັ້ນ ຜູ້ມີໃຈຖືກບິດເບືອນ»។
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that ethical failure begins internally: a corrupted mind (duṣṭa-cetas) forms a sinful intention (pāpa abhiprāya), and such intention is itself a mark of adharma even before any outward act occurs.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration within the Udyoga Parva, attention is drawn to the wicked resolve of certain wrongdoers—framing the coming events as driven by inner malice and unrighteous intent.
