वैशम्पायन उवाच
The speaker asserts moral and procedural correctness—claiming no ‘vyatikrama’ (breach of right conduct)—and urges rulers to understand the full situation regarding the Pāṇḍavas before judging. The ethical emphasis is on careful discernment and fairness in political decision-making.
Vaiśampāyana addresses an interlocutor (calling him ‘mūḍha’) and then turns to the assembled kings, asking them to grasp the complete matter concerning the Pāṇḍavas. The line functions as a transition into a fuller explanation or justification in the surrounding discourse.
