वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches that disciplined daily recitation of the Mahābhārata’s distilled ‘Bhārata-Sāvitrī’ grants the same spiritual merit as studying the whole epic and culminates in realization/attainment of the Supreme Brahman—linking ethical instruction (dharma) with the highest liberation (mokṣa).
In the closing movement of the Mahābhārata (Svargārohaṇa), Vaiśampāyana highlights a concluding, summary-like teaching called ‘Bhārata-Sāvitrī’ and praises its efficacy: a listener/reader who recites it at dawn is promised the epic’s full fruit and ultimate spiritual attainment.
