Educational Q&A

Even after victory, dharma is tested in how one returns to family and elders—with humility, permission, and care for those who have suffered. The verse foregrounds the ethical weight of maternal grief and the duty of sons to approach their mother respectfully in the war’s aftermath.

All the Pāṇḍavas go together to their mother Kuntī (Pṛthā). After a long separation and the devastation of the war, Kuntī sees her sons and becomes emotionally overwhelmed.
