वैशम्पायन उवाच तमुवाच महाराज व्यासो वेदविदां वर: । नारदं समभ्िप्रेक्ष्य सर्वज्ञानां पुरातनम्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--महाराज! तब वेदवेत्ताओंमें श्रेष्ठ व्यासजीने सर्वज्ञ महात्माओंमें सबसे प्राचीन नारदजीकी ओर देखकर युधिष्ठिरसे कहा--
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: tam uvāca mahārāja Vyāso vedavidāṁ varaḥ | Nāradaṁ samabhiprekṣya sarvajñānāṁ purātanam ||
ໄວສຳປາຍະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ໂອ ມະຫາລາຊາ, ໃນເວລານັ້ນ ພະຍາສະ—ຜູ້ປະເສີດສຸດໃນບັນດາຜູ້ຮູ້ເວດ—ໄດ້ເບິ່ງໄປຫາ ນາຣະດະ ຜູ້ເກົ່າແກ່ທີ່ສຸດໃນບັນດາມຸນີຜູ້ຮູ້ທຸກສິ່ງ ແລ້ວໄດ້ກ່າວກັບ ຢຸດທິສຖິຣ»។
