वेदाख्याने श्रुति: कार्या त्वया मतिमतां वर । तस्मात्‌ कुरु यथा5ज्ञप्तं ममैतद्‌ वचन मुने,'बुद्धिमानोंमें श्रेष्ठ मुने! तुम्हें वेदोंकी व्याख्याके लिये ऋकू, साम, यजुष्‌ आदि श्रुतियोंका पृथक्‌-पृथक्‌ संग्रह करना चाहिये। अतः तुम मेरी आज्ञाके अनुसार कार्य करो। मुझे तुमसे इतना ही कहना है”

Vaiśampāyana uvāca |

vedākhyāne śrutiḥ kāryā tvayā matimatāṁ vara |

tasmāt kuru yathājñaptaṁ mamaitad vacanaṁ mune ||

ໄວສັມປາຍະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: “ໂອ ມຸນີ ຜູ້ເປັນເລີດໃນບັນດາຜູ້ມີປັນຍາ! ເພື່ອການອະທິບາຍເວທະ ເຈົ້າຄວນຮວບຮວມ ແລະຈັດລຽງບົດສະຣຸຕິ (śruti) ທີ່ເປັນການເປີດເຜີຍ—ຣິກ (Ṛk), ສາມັນ (Sāman), ຢະຈຸສ (Yajus) ແລະອື່ນໆ—ໃຫ້ແຍກເປັນສ່ວນໆ. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ຈົ່ງປະຕິບັດຕາມທີ່ເຮົາໄດ້ສັ່ງໄວ້ ໂອ ມຸນີ. ນີ້ແມ່ນຄໍາສັ່ງຂອງເຮົາຕໍ່ເຈົ້າ.”
