Adhyāya 325: Nārada in Śvetadvīpa—Stotra to the Nirguṇa Mahātman
कालोपपन्नेन तदा स्वाद्धन्नेना भ्यतर्पयन् । उन्होंने पाद्य, अर्घ्ध आदि निवेदन करके उत्तम विधिसे शुकदेवजीका पूजन किया और उन्हें समयानुकूल स्वादिष्ठ अन्न भोजन कराकर पूर्णतः तृप्त किया
kālopapannena tadā svādu-annenābhyatarpayat | pādya-arghyādi-nivedanena ca uttama-vidhinā śukadevaṃ pūjayām āsa, kālānukūlena svādiṣṭānnena bhojayitvā paritoṣayām āsa |
ພີດສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: «ແລ້ວມາ ດ້ວຍອາຫານທີ່ເໝາະກັບເວລາແລະໂອກາດ ລາວໄດ້ບໍລິການຈົນທ່ານອິ່ມໃຈຢ່າງສົມບູນ. ຫຼັງຈາກຖວາຍກຽດຕາມຈາຣີດ—ນ້ໍາລ້າງຕີນ (pādya), ອາຣະຄະ (arghya) ແລະອື່ນໆ—ລາວໄດ້ບູຊາພຣະສຸກະເທວະດ້ວຍພິທີອັນດີຍິ່ງ, ແລະໃຫ້ຮັບປະທານອາຫານອັນແຊບອ່ອນທີ່ເໝາະກັບລະດູ ຈົນທ່ານພໍໃຈຢ່າງເຕັມທີ່.»
भीष्म उवाच
Dharma is expressed through timely and respectful hospitality: honoring a worthy guest—especially a sage—by offering traditional courtesies (pādya, arghya, etc.) and providing suitable food with proper etiquette, thereby cultivating humility, reverence, and social-ritual order.
The host receives Śukadeva and performs formal guest-honors, worships him according to proper procedure, and then feeds him with seasonally appropriate, delicious food until he is fully satisfied; Bhīṣma narrates this as an example of correct conduct.
