देवतापितृप्रश्नः — Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship
पुरा समूलबान्धवं प्रभुर्हरत्यदु:खवित् । तवेह जीवितं यमो न चास्ति तस्य वारक:,यमराज सबके स्वामी हैं। वे किसीका दुःख-दर्द नहीं समझते हैं। वे मूल और बन्धु-बान्धवोंसहित तुम्हारे प्राण हर लेंगे। उन्हें रोकनेवाला कोई नहीं है। वह समय आनेके पहले ही तुम अपनी रक्षाके लिये प्रबन्ध कर लो
purā samūla-bāndhavaṁ prabhur haraty aduḥkhavit | taveha jīvitaṁ yamo na cāsti tasya vārakaḥ ||
ວະຍາສະກ່າວວ່າ: “ແຕ່ເກົ່າກ່ອນ ພຣະຍົມ—ຜູ້ເປັນເຈົ້າແຫ່ງສັດທັງປວງ—ບໍ່ຫວັ່ນໄຫວຕໍ່ຄວາມເຈັບປວດຂອງຜູ້ອື່ນ ແລະພາຊີວິດໄປ ດັ່ງຖອນອອກທັງຮາກ ພ້ອມຍາດພີ່ນ້ອງ. ໃນໂລກນີ້ ຊີວິດຂອງເຈົ້າກໍຢູ່ໃນມືພຣະຍົມ ແລະບໍ່ມີໃຜຂັດຂວາງພຣະອົງໄດ້. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ກ່ອນເວລາທີ່ກໍານົດນັ້ນຈະມາຮອດ ຈົ່ງຈັດການກຽມການເພື່ອປົກປ້ອງຕົນເອງ.”
