प्रश्निता विनयोपेता दमनित्या: सुसंशिता: । प्रयान्ति स्थानमजरं सर्वकर्मविवर्जिता:
praśnitā vinayopetā damanityāḥ su-saṃśitāḥ | prayānti sthānam ajaraṃ sarva-karma-vivarjitāḥ ||

पराशर उवाच
Liberation is presented as the fruit of disciplined renunciation: humility (vinaya), self-restraint (dama), and firm training in vows lead one beyond binding action to the imperishable, unaging state.
In Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, the sage Parāśara describes the qualities and trajectory of renunciants/ascetics: when tested and instructed, they remain humble and controlled, and thus attain the unaging goal free from karmic entanglement.
