अध्याय २८६ — पराशर-उपदेशः
Ethical Restraint, Mortality, and Karma
सहस्रिणो5पि जीवन्ति जीवन्ति शतिनस्तथा । शाकेन चान्ये जीवन्ति पश्यास्मानपि जीवत:
sahasriṇo 'pi jīvanti jīvanti śatino tathā | śākena cānye jīvanti paśyāsmān api jīvataḥ ||
ຜູ້ທີ່ມີເງິນເປັນພັນກໍດຳລົງຊີວິດ; ຜູ້ທີ່ມີພຽງແຕ່ເປັນຮ້ອຍກໍດຳລົງຊີວິດເຊັ່ນກັນ. ບາງຄົນດຳລົງຊີວິດໄດ້ດ້ວຍຜັກໃບລ້ວນໆ. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ຈົ່ງເຫັນພວກເຮົາດ້ວຍວ່າຍັງມີຊີວິດ—ສາມາດພຽງພໍດ້ວຍຄວາມງ່າຍດາຍ; ຊີວິດແລະກຽດສັກສີບໍ່ໄດ້ຂຶ້ນກັບຄວາມຮັ່ງມີ.
