Kuṇḍadhāra-Upākhyāna: Dharma’s Superiority over Wealth and Desire
सम्भावयन्ति पितरं त्वया सम्भाविता: खगा: । असंशयं पिता वै त्वं पुत्रानाहूय जाजले,ये पक्षी तुम्हारे द्वारा पालित और समादूत हुए हैं। अतः तुम्हारा पिताके समान सम्मान करते हैं। जाजले! इसमें संदेह नहीं कि तुम इनके पिता ही हो; अतः इन पुत्रोंको बुलाकर प्रश्न करो
sambhāvayanti pitaraṁ tvayā sambhāvitāḥ khagāḥ | asaṁśayaṁ pitā vai tvaṁ putrān āhūya jājale ||
ນົກທັງຫຼາຍ ທີ່ເຈົ້າໄດ້ຖະນຸຖະນອມ ແລະໃຫ້ກຽດແກ່ພວກມັນ ບັດນີ້ກໍຖືກກຽດເຈົ້າດັ່ງບິດາ. ໂອ ຈາຈາລີ, ບໍ່ມີຂໍ້ສົງໄສ—ເຈົ້າແມ່ນບິດາຂອງພວກມັນແທ້. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ຈົ່ງເອີ້ນລູກໆເຫຼົ່ານີ້ມາ ແລ້ວຖາມພວກມັນ.
चुलाधार उवाच
Care and protection create moral bonds and obligations: one who nurtures living beings becomes, in an ethical sense, their parent and deserves respect while also bearing responsibility toward them.
Culādhāra addresses Jājali, pointing out that the birds he has raised now revere him as their father; Culādhāra urges him to call these birds (as his 'sons') and question them.
